Amanda has been Irish Step Dancing since she was eight years old and has now danced for ten years. With close coaching from Eileen O’Kennedy Dunlap, her first major competition was the Oireachtas Mid-Western Regional Championships, only two years after she started dancing. Since then she has Qualified for the World Championships in Ireland twice (’05 and ’10). Amanda also attended the ’09 World Championships in Philadelphia for Ceili dancing. She was part of a Ceili team for approximately eight years. She has been to Ireland three other times for the All Ireland Championships including this year’s competition. Amanda is attending the University of Akron. She has been asked to audition for Riverdance. Amanda also helps teach classes and private lessons for up and coming dancers. Amanda has been working with E.L.I.T.E. Training Performance for two years and continues to reap the benefits from daily training.
